Just received an email from Stefan and Silke:
They are currently in Punta Arenas, Chile – which is the southernmost city on Earth!!!!!!!! It’s overlooking the Straits of Magellan.
They are about to embark on a trip to Isla Magdalena – home to approx. 120,000 penguins and many other seabirds.
After that they will head to Tierra del Fuego. This means a lot to them – once they have reached Ushuia they have indeed traveled the whole PamAm from north to south, i.e. Alaska to Patagonia!!!
3/1/10: And here are the photodocumentary from their second visit to Chile:
We just received a Skype call from Stefan and Silke who are in the central part of Chile – about to have a nice bbq dinner accompanied by some Chilean red wine! The weather is sunny and windy plus it gets cold at night as they are at 2300 meters = 7500 feet.
They plan on driving to Argentina to spend Christmas.
